John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run Rules 1. All entries must abide by Ohio and Indiana Boating Laws. Safety comes first!
2. One registration/ entry into the John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run is awarded as a bonus to preregistered boaters. 3. Only preregistered boaters may participate in the John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run. You must also be aged 16 or older to participate in the John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run. 4. The “owner” of an entry shall be the individual who is in possession of the tally sheet. 5. It is the players responsibly the keep the tally card in a readable condition. Lost or destroyed tally sheets WILL NOT be replaced and NO PRIZES will be awarded to an unreadable tally sheet. 6. The participant MUST present the tally sheet to be marked BEFORE any cards are drawn. 7. If a duplicate card is drawn you MUST draw a card until a unique card is drawn. It is the player’s responsibility to insure a unique card is drawn. Duplicate cards will not be counted. 8. Check-in for the Poker Run closes at 4:00 9. Participants must be at last poker stop at the take out by 8:30 PM. Any participant who is not in line at that time forfeits their entry into the John Kroemer Memorial River Poker and any prize. 10. Fees a. Free entry is provided to preregistered boaters who are 16 years of age or older. b. “CURE” card fee (Extra Card) i. “CURE” card purchased at the registration table DURING registration/ check-in at the event- $5.00 ii. “CURE” card purchased at the last poker stop at the take out AFTER participant is off the water, and BEFORE turning in the tally sheet- $20.00 iii. The “CURE” card(s) can only be purchased on the day of event. 11. Poker Run a. Boaters will pick up a tally sheet at the registration table. The BEFORE poker run “CURE” card will also be drawn if purchased. b. The first card will be given at the Put In. c. The river stops will be marked by a sign. The final stop will be located at the beer ticket booth. d. At each stop, one card will be drawn from a bag containing one full playing card deck (52 cards) without jokers. The Poker Stop Event Staff monitor will place a mark on the tally sheet for the rank and suit of the card drawn. The playing card will be returned to the bag. e. There will be a total of 3 stops on the river. f. On the day of the event a timeline that each John Kroemer Memorial River Poker Run Stop is “open” and “closed” will be provided to the participants. g. It is the participant’s responsibility to stop at each location. NO extra cards will given due to missing a location which a card should have been received. h. The last card will be given at the beer ticket/ ID area. i. An opportunity to purchase an after poker run “CURE” card is available at the last poker stop at the take out. j. The tally sheets will be turned in at last poker stop at the take out to event staff by 8:30 PM. 12. Prizes a. The prize for the winning hand held by participants aged 21 and over will be $100. b. The prize for the winning hand held by participants aged over 16 and under 21 will be valued at at least $50, but NOT be cash. 13. Winner a. The winner will be required to provide proof of age, such as a state issued photo ID. If proof of age can not be provided the event board can declare another winning hand. b. Prizes will be awarded according to the rules of 5 Card Stud. c. Suites are of equal value d. Hands can not be 5 of a kind e. The cards will be tallied by event staff to determine a winner; WINNERS NEED TO BE PRESENT at the 9:30 announcement of winner. f. In the event of a tie, the final winners will be determined by drawing for a high card. g. The winners will be announced during the festival portion of the event,and the winners bit present at the time of the announcement will be notified within 1 week. h. All decisions of the judges are FINAL. i. The following rules will be used to rank hands.
